Registrations for the hackathon close on January 5th, 2015.
HACKATHON RULES
1. Teams
The hackathon is a team event with the team size limited to a maximum of 4 people. You are welcome to register either as an Individual or with your pre-formed teams. For individual participants, we will facilitate team creation on the day of the event.
2. App development
Your application must be developed entirely during the Hackathon within the 24-hour duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc.
3.Demo & Presentations
All teams will present a demo at the end of the Hackathon which will be the basis for judging the winners. The maximum time limit for a presentation will be 5 minutes per team.
4. Aadhaar integration
Khosla Labs will conduct a tutorial on integration with Aadhaar in 1 hour and provide you with necessary biometric devices for you to build and test your application, for the duration of the hackathon. You will need to return the biometric devices at the end of the hackathon.
5. Code Audits
All submissions may be subject to a Code Audit to ensure that you are abiding by the above rules. Git repositories will be created for each of you to track your code.
6. Intellectual Property
The intellectual property of your code belongs only to your team.
7. Ideate with all
This is a great opportunity where you will be in a room with your peers and mentors, including tech experts who created Aadhaar! Your interaction with them will help you refine your ideas. This is going to be an open environment where your app will be discussed and debated among your co-hackers and judges. If you have an idea that you want to keep confidential and private, you may not want to bring it here.
8. Tech Requirements
We will provide you with:
- Biometric devices
- SDK for Android
- SDK for Windows Desktop
- Aadhaar Gateway SDK
- AUA / KUA services to access Aadhaar
- Shared internet connectivity
Requirements:
-
Bring your own laptop for programming (pre-installed with the requisite software and libraries you may need; you need to save time during the hackathon as there will be heavy loads on the internet bandwidth available) Bring your own OTG-enabled smartphone for testing (if you are developing an Android app)
-
Ensure that your laptop has Java 1.7 SDK installed for using the Aadhaar Gateway SDK
-
Remember that the biometric devices only work with Android and Windows - they are neither iOS nor Mac OS compliant.
9. Food is on us!

Note: There will be no alcohol served or allowed at the event.
And most importantly,
