Hasura HackDev Challenge

If developers build innovations to make the world a better place, then perhaps the most impactful innovations are the ones that make life easier for developers. The internet is full of passionate rants by developers about the countless things that impede their work. A lot of these are inefficiencies in workflows, repetitive manual tasks, communication gaps/barriers, improper collaboration within dev teams, or with other teams, or with external clients.

We’re looking for applications that address any of these inefficiencies with simple solutions. The solution should directly improve dev productivity in any of the themes in a tangible manner.

Basically, hack together tools for developers. Use APIs from Hasura and others like Stack Overflow, Github/Bitbucket, Slack, Discord, and Trello to build a useful hack. Build bots, webhooks, or CLI tools that make your or your team’s life better.

Examples:

• Track average closing time of issues on github and show team member productivity as a graph

• Add a bot to automatically triage and comment on issues (github/bitbucket) based on contribution guidelines on the issue. Eg: /kind bug in the issue text automatically labels the issue as a bug

• Build a CLI tool to search questions on stackoverflow: click here!

• Github bot to congratulate first time contributor

• Slack bot to post a GIF when an issue is closed

• Share code-snippets securely from the command line with your team. On the lines of this!

Important Instructions

1. Build a hack to improve dev productivity in any of the themes in a tangible manner.
2. It is compulsory to use at least one Hasura API

4. It is mandatory to register on Hasura and log in with the same email ID with which you register for this hackathon
5. Participants must develop and host the solutions on the Hasura platform and submit the hosted link as their entry.
6. Join this Discord channel to get in touch with Hasura directly and ask any questions.
7. Specify which Hasura APIs you plan to use and how they will be used in your idea.
