Amendment to the criteria of Hackathon
This is a team hackathon and each team must have 2 members. Members can be:
- One member from South Asia and the other member from Europe
- Both the members from South Asia
- European members can be a South Asian who is based in Europe
Teams cannot be:
- Team of only one member is not allowed
- Team of more than two members is not allowed
Top 10 ideas from phase 1 will be selected to pitch their ideas for the online hackathon round on 17th May. Out of these 10 ideas, 2 slots will be given to teams with 1 member from Europe and 1 member from South Asia, and 8 slots will be given to teams with other combinations as mentioned in point 1. The top 3 teams from the online hackathon on 17th May will then be selected to compete in the physical hackathon in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The top 3 teams will be open to any of the combinations as mentioned in point 1.
To better identify the geography of each participant to form teams, while registering for the hackathon please add your name in this format: Full Name - South Asia/Europe. (Ex: John Doe - Europe OR Jane Doe - South Asia). Please use this information visible on each participant's name to form your teams according to the criteria. We have also created a discord channel that you can join to find team mates.
You can either invite people to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member. Click here for a team formation guide.
The registration and team formation phase will start at Apr 11, 2023, 06:00 PM IST and end at May 10, 2023, 11:55 PM IST.
The proposal submission phase will start at May 02, 2023, 06:00 PM IST and end at May 10, 2023, 11:55 PM IST.
The online hackathon will start at May 17, 2023 03:30 PM IST and end at May 17, 2023 05:30 PM IST.
There are 4 themes of the hackathon, you must submit a hack that is in one or more of these themes.
Once the hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack, you can submit as many times as you want, the last hack will be considered as the final submission.
You are expected to come up with new and innovative ideas, any idea that has been copied from somewhere will be disqualified.
Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc.
The party participating in the hackathon promises that the materials they submit/produce do not violate any copyright laws or contain objectionable parts owned by third parties. They agree to hold FNF harmless from any claims or demands resulting from the material, such as copyright infringement or containing defamatory material. FNF logo must be displayed on all materials produced during the hackathon, unless agreed otherwise. The intellectual property of the materials submitted are a property of FNF.
