The NVIDIA Ideathon is a AI and deep learning computing competition challenging teams globally to develop and demonstrate how humans can collaborate with powerful AI technologies to tackle the world’s grand challenges. This challenge will focus on creating advanced and scalable applications that can give 10X value by leveraging data. The goal is to accelerate the understanding and adoption of AI’s most promising breakthroughs.
To encourage innovation in any form, the competition is an open challenge in AI. Rather than set a single, universal goal for all teams, this competition will invite teams to each create their own goal and solution to a grand challenge. From improving the efficiency of treatments and avoiding costs by minimising the risks of false diagnosis, to visual commerce in retail to building the vehicle that can communicate with city’s infrastructure.

We are calling for TEAMS with IDEAS that can be implement on GPUs-accelerated deep learning. NVIDIA aims to disrupt the current AI landscape by providing an interdisciplinary platform for teams to collaborate, build on the most promising advancements in AI.
NVIDIA’s GPUs simulates human intelligence, running deep learning algorithms and acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. The NVIDIA Deep Learning SDK provides powerful tools and libraries for designing, training and deploying GPUs-accelerated deep learning applications. It includes machine learning primitives, inference SDKs for video analytics, linear algebra, sparse matrices, and multi-GPUs communications libs.
Ideas submissions can come from anyone, anywhere. Scientists, engineers, academics, entrepreneurs, and other innovators are invited to form a team and register to compete.
Solutions will be evaluated based on their technological advancement, creativity and their potential importance/benefit to humanity and the potential of the AI solution to meaningfully address the grand challenge. Solutions will be evaluated against their potential exponential impact or shift and scalability.
All the top submissions will be listed on the page and winners will get access to best in class training and mentorship by Deep learning experts, get access to the latest software, tools and information you need to develop applications that use NVIDIA GPUs, platforms and software solutions.
The basic structure of your submissions should cover:
Idea in detail, the impact of the idea - The teams must describe the context of the problem and how solving the problem with AI is timely and important. The goal will be evaluated by the judging committee of subject matter experts at NVIDIA to ascertain its importance/benefit to humanity and the potential of the AI solution to meaningfully address the grand challenge.
Technology stack, frameworks you will use, how do you plan to implement it? - Each idea will include a detailed explanation of the approach the team will use to achieve its proposed goal. Teams may include explanations of technological approaches and development pathways. Solutions that achieve an exponential impact, shift, or scalability will be weighted higher than those that result in a linear increase.
How do you plan to use the power of GPU’s? - Plans must include a detailed explanation of the team’s approach to AI. What functions does the technology perform? What kind of technology are they employing? How will they validate and test their technology as well as evaluate success?
