IndiaHacks: Open Source

What’s the purpose of the Open Source track?
This is a month-long event encouraging people to contribute to open source projects, whether by fixing bugs, creating new features, or updating and writing documentation.

How will you know how many Pull Requests I have submitted?
We’ve created a simple scripts that read all the Pull Requests that somebody has submitted, and if the PR has been accepted. The project maintainers will also help us by providing this information.

Can I only contribute to the projects featured in the list?
In order to win the prizes, you will have to contribute to the projects featured by us. However you can contribute to any open source project hosted on Github and you will be eligible to win the T-shirt.

How will you know about my contributions on Github?
You need to submit your Github username when you are participating, we will use the script to identify how many PRs have been submitted by you during the duration of the event.

Should the PRs be to the same repository or could they be to several repositories?
They can be multiple repositories!

Is this a India-only program?
Absolutely not. Everyone in our global community is welcome to participate.

** Are all first prize winners eligible for a trip to San Francisco?**
The sponsored trip to San Francisco, is subject to Visa availabilities. In the case of being unable to process a visa for a winner, an equivalent prize worth 2,000 USD will be awarded.
