Rules & Guidelines
- This is a team participation hackathon. A team can consist of 2 to 4 members. Please note that no changes to the team structure will be allowed once registered.
- Rakathon is open to both students and working professionals, and teams can include a mix of both.
- Rakathon 2024 has 4 themes. Your idea must align with one of these themes. While not mandatory, sticking to the suggested problem statements is encouraged.
- Rakathon 2024 consists of 2 phases as outlined in the event flow. The deadline to submit your entries and ideas is July 31st, 2024, 11:59 PM IST.
- Participants are expected to propose new and innovative ideas. Copied or borrowed ideas, including those from internet sources, may not qualify for the Finale.
- Once the Rakathon idea submission phase begins, you can submit your idea multiple times. The last submission within the specified window will be considered final.
- Keep submissions concise: include a 1-2 sentence problem statement and a 1-2 page document or 5-7 slide pitch detailing your proposed solution, go-to-market plan, monetization strategy, etc.
- Only the top 100 entries selected and invited by Rakuten India will participate in the Finale. Selected teams will work on their hacks from the Rakuten India office during the event.
- All team members must be physically present at the Rakuten India office for the Finale event.
- Your hack must be developed entirely during the Rakathon duration.
- The Rakathon Finale is a 2-day event, starting from August 30th, 2024, at 8:00 AM IST and ending on August 31st, 2024, at 07:30 PM IST.
- You may utilize open-source libraries, datasets (e.g., Kaggle, Hugging Face), and freely available systems/services (e.g., Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds).
