Who can participate in the Hackathon?

Developers and anyone who can code and is interested in IoT, edge analytics, and environmental sustainability use cases.

What does it cost?

The Hackathon is completely free.

Do you need to have the entire idea fully working?

The entire idea need not be fully implemented; however, the submission should be functional and cover the points outlined in the submission guidelines.

Do you have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Hackathon?

No, you do not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the entire duration of the Hackathon. You can develop the application on your local system based on one of the themes (See Themes for additional details) and then submit it on the specific HackerEarth challenge page. The only portion of the Hackathon that will be online and in real-time are the Ideation Phase tutorial sessions and Development Phase office hours.

Do you need to give a demo of the product that you have built?

No, not during the Ideation Phase.  If you are selected to move on to the Development Phase, you will need to submit a working demonstration or prototype built for the Hackathon. Refer to the Submission Guidelines for more details

If it is a team submission, does that mean all team members will have access to work at the same time?

Yes, all team members can log in from their account, although only one team member is required to submit the materials described in the submission guidelines.

Who will own the intellectual property(IP) rights to the solution I have built?

Except for the license granted to the Sponsor pursuant to the Development Participation Agreement, you/your team reserves all right, title, and interest in and to their Hackathon submissions.
