FAQs


1. Is there any registration fee for the event?

No. It is a free event for everyone willing to participate.

2. Can I participate alone? How many members are allowed in a team?

Yes. You may have a max of 4 members in your team.

3. What is the eligibility criteria to participate?

Participants must have at least 3 years of professional experience

4. Can Unisys associates participate in this Hackathon?

No. However, they can spread the word and invite their friends to participate.

5. What should I bring to the venue?

Carry your laptops and any necessary hardware/software you require for your demo. Also carry a valid ID proof.

6. Will I be provided any hardware kit to build the final prototype at the Hackathon?

No. Participants should bring their own kit, as required.

7. What is expected as deliverables for this hackathon?

You need to build a minimum working prototype and provide a demonstration.

8. On what parameters will my idea be judged?

You will be judged on the merit, novelty of the idea, and the quality of demonstration.

9. Are there any areas I need to be proficient in?

Yes. You need to have extensive knowledge on one or more of the following to build your prototype.

IOT - Analytics, Cloud Computing, Sensors Data, Wireless Technologies, Networking and Security

Safe Cities - Big Data & Analytics, Wireless Technologies, Networking, Cloud Computing, Mobility

Security – Network Security technologies

Machine Learning - Big Data & Analytics, Machine Learning Algorithms, Decision Trees, Neural Networks

Virtual Simulation - 3D Graphics Rendering, Videographic Streaming, Mobility, Google glass

10. Should the shortlisted team be physically present at the venue during the Hackathon?

Yes, being physically present for the final round is absolutely necessary. Not showing up would mean disqualification of the individual/team.

11. Should I belong to a specific stream/ discipline to participate?

No.

12. Will I get a certificate that is recognized nationally perhaps for my participation?

We will provide a 'Certificate of Participation' from Unisys for all the shortlisted teams.

13. Will Unisys take care of my food, travel and accommodation?

Travel reimbursement will be provided to outstation candidates (Candidates outside Bangalore) as per the guidelines laid out by the committee. More information will be shared with you closer to the event. Please get in touch with your HackerEarth contact. Candidates will have to arrange their own accommodation. Refreshments include lunch, hi-tea, and dinner will be provided on the day of the Hackathon event.
