How Judging Will Work

There will be two rounds of judging; the preliminary round and the final round. We will start the preliminary round at 9:00am, and aim to start the closing ceremony at 12:00pm.

Preliminary Round:

The preliminary round will be conducted during our Hack Expo. The Hack Expo allows teams a chance to demo their hacks to other teams and judges, as well as to see what other hackers created.

Before hacking ends, all teams must submit their hack onto the HackerEarth Sprint platform. We will assign each team a table number. As soon as we release table assignments, you should head over and quickly set up your table.

We will assign a judge to each team, and they will be coming around to listen to your pitch. You will have 3 minutes per pitch: 2 minute to demo and 1 minute for questions and answers. The criteria the judges will follow is shown above.

Each judge will then pick their top hack, and those hacks will move on to the final round. The top hacks will be announced at the end of the Hack Expo.

In addition to this, if your hack qualifies for any of the additional category prizes, judges from the sponsoring company will come around and judge your hack at this time.

Final Round:

The final round will occur during the closing ceremony. Each team will be asked to come up and present their hack to the audience. We will have a judging panel that shall judge the final hacks, and will select the winners. You will have 5 minutes to pitch your hack, 3 minutes to demo and 2 minutes to answer questions. During the closing ceremony, we will also announce the winners of the categories.
