Case Study
Survey Sparrow is an all-in-one omnichannel experience management platform that is continuously expanding to deliver engaging solutions. Launched in 2017, they started with the world’s first chat surveys and now have users in about 149+ countries.
Their most celebrated product launches of NPS platform and 360-degree assessments won them many awards, including Red Herring Top 100 in North America 2020, and KMA IT start-up of the year 2019. With about 100k customers across the globe, Survey Sparrow was recognized as G2’s Fastest-Growing Product for the third time in a row. The team is obsessed with delivering nothing but wows and are always looking for problem solvers who have an unbeatable passion for building and creating things.
Over the past two years, the pandemic has fast-tracked digitisation leading to a sudden rise in demand for online surveys. The rapidly growing experience management platform also had to scale their volume of hires to meet the explosive demand.
With a target of 148 campuses to be covered in a year, Survey Sparrow’s campus hiring team planned to make the most out of the campus hiring season in 2022. They had a checklist that covered all the features their ideal technical assessments platform had.
Their previous hiring process generally involved sharing a problem statement with the candidate in a technical interview and assessing their approach to solve it. These were generally problem statements they were trying to solve internally and helped them in finding candidates who were a right fit for the company. While scaling their tech hiring, the team wanted to have the same level of in-depth assessment of candidate’s skill and problem solving capabilities. Thus, ensuring that only the best candidates make it to the technical interview round.
The recruitment team at Survey Sparrow found the HackerEarth product to be a perfect fit for all the above listed requirements. Being one of the pioneers, HackerEarth understood these needs early on and has tailored the product to meet a tech recruiter’s primary goals.
The campus hiring process aims to find candidates who can join the Survey Sparrow product development team. With HackerEarth Assessments, the team moved away from a manual to AI driven hiring process and have already begun their campus hiring process at over 80 campuses this year.
Once the team receives interest from the candidates, the recruitment team onboards these candidates onto the HackerEarth platform for the technical assessment. From here, a cut-off score is applied to shortlist candidates. Any candidate who does not surpass this threshold are filtered out and top candidates from this make it to technical interviews with the Engineering team.
Since inception, Survey Sparrow has offered a plethora of solutions tailored to the needs of companies and have seen more than 300% growth the past year. The recruitment team is planning to hire extensively across engineering and product development functions and have already made plans to increase the number of hires in 2023. With a vision to build an inclusive and diverse workforce, SurveySparrow continues to employ HackerEarth Assessments to identify top experienced and skilled candidates for most of the technical roles.
