The Penn Blockchain Conference Hackathon 2025 kicks off virtually on February 14th, giving participants the flexibility to collaborate remotely while developing their projects. Teams will receive mentorship, attend workshops, and refine their projects leading up to the final stage.
The hackathon culminates in person on February 20th & 21st in Philadelphia at the Penn Blockchain Conference 2025, where teams have the option to present their projects live to judges, investors, and industry leaders. Whether you’re a developer, designer, or entrepreneur, this is your chance to showcase your skills, connect with the blockchain community, and shape the future of decentralized technology.

Aptos: AI-Powered Developer Assistant

Build a chatbot or “AI agent” that answers Aptos developer questions in natural language. The focus is on providing relevant, accurate, and easy-to-digest answers from Aptos docs, GitHub repos, or other official resources. The final deliverable should be a working prototype (preferably in TypeScript) with a clear path to integration in existing Aptos docs.

Aptos: AI-Powered DeFi Aggregator

Build a chatbot or “AI agent” that allows users to seamlessly discover, compare, and interact with Aptos DeFi protocols. This can include lending, swapping, or providing liquidity—all through natural language queries. For example, a user might say “Where can I find the best USDC lending rate?” or “Swap 5 APT for USDC at the best price,” and your aggregator should identify the top protocol(s) and present a transaction preview. The end product should be a working prototype (preferably in TypeScript) demonstrating how an LLM-powered interface can unify multiple DeFi functions on Aptos.

AI frameworks help developers build AI agents that interact with the Chain easier. They usually provide plugins for different models, DeFi protocols.Help grow Aptos’s AI ecosystem by creating or extending an AI framework tailored to Aptos. This could mean building a brand-new toolkit, forking Metamove, or adding substantial new features/plugins to Metamove. The goal is to give developers an easier way to create AI agents that interact with Aptos smart contracts, DeFi protocols, or other on-chain resources. We also encourage you to build a simple UI that demos your framework’s capabilities—show us how developers can quickly integrate and use your tooling!

Areas of interest include: DeFi - Sui has over $2B in TVL and there are many opportunities to tap into this deep pool of liquidity. Synoptic: AI Trading Agent for News-Driven Market Predictions

Develop an AI-powered trading agent that autonomously processes breaking news from crypto-related Twitter accounts and executes market predictions based on its findings. Your agent should identify impactful news, determine market direction, and estimate the optimal timeframe for price movement. Participants will receive a historical dataset of tweets from crypto news and influencer accounts, enabling them to train, backtest, and refine their AI trading agent. Additionally, access to GPU instances will be provided for deep learning-based approaches.

This bounty challenges developers to integrate a new blockchain with ZetaChain by building a connection that enables seamless cross-chain communication. Whether it’s Stellar, Aptos, Algorand, or another unconnected blockchain, your work will contribute to expanding ZetaChain’s cross-chain capabilities and strengthening its role as the universal interoperability layer for Web3. ⚠️ EVM-based chains, Bitcoin, Solana, and Sui are NOT eligible for this bounty since they are already integrated or in progress.
