Rules

  1. Game Scope Summary:
    a) High Concept: Participants are expected to build functional games, with “milk” being tightly integrated into the gameplay and storyline. b) The Game will :
    i. Be a free to play game. It can have a freemium business model.

    ii. Have social, sharing and acquisition features deeply integrated into the core loop of the game.

    iii.Have the option of in-app purchase store items, like power ups, energy etc.

    iv. Have simple controls, pertaining to the category of game that you’re building. This is more pertinent for mobile games.

    v. Have engagement and retention features

    vi. have characters with engaging storylines to support gameplay.

    vii.appeal to ages 8 - 15, with interest in casual/serious gaming

    viii.be smooth and without lag (performance) on low hardware

    ix. be optimized for fast loading times

    x. have a release executable ROM size below the Platform’s over-the-wire download limit and if necessary deliver additional packages after the app is installed.

Assumptions & Common Understanding Between Parties

Throughout the development of the Game, DEVELOPER will:

i. use latest available version of UNITY (currently Unity 4) for development and should ensure and make all reasonable efforts to upgrade as per new releases / requirement, however it has been agreed that currently UNITY 4 shall be used and on or before the launch date if UNITY 5 gets stabled during the development phase and tools/SDKs required for the game are supported, then it should be used for the development of the Game.

ii. use all licensed software and tools for project development,

iii. use all the plug-ins and plug-in update as required by the game

iv. not use any 3rd party plug-ins without the consent of GlaxoSmithKline

v. allow to access the game source code repository for review to GlaxoSmithKline

vi. ensure a fluid game experience across all devices on all platforms

vii.ensure the best of memory management practices for scenes memory, textures, poly budget etc. ensuring the game performance is not compromised considering post processing

viii.work collaboratively with GlaxoSmithKline, in the case of selection, on content and server management solutions

ix. use the latest available version of NGUI will be used for UI implementation and localization

x. use 3DS Max or other standard alternatives to develop 3D assets

xi. share all tools created during the development of the Game with GlaxoSmithKline along with source and support/documentation

xii.provide complete support for asset bundles, in case of selection

xiii.ensure builds released post localization by DEVELOPER are capable of detecting and loading native device language

xiv.use online bug tracking software

xv.test the Game at a rudimentary level on all platforms before submission to HackerEarth Quality Assurance

xvi.provide submission build notes to HackerEarth for all milestone and interim Build submissions that have details on what changes have been done from the last version, known issues, features implemented, and the issues addressed using the bug identification number references

xvii.have provisioning to enable/disable cheat codes for regression and focused testing

xviii.should be able to add new content (level, Missions, characters, etc) from backend without updating build on Stores.

xix.have to integrate a download manager that accommodated the downloading of split binary / asset bundles from a preferred CDN in the background while the game is playing or at a key point in game progression if initial binary is larger than the Platform’s over-the-wire download limit,

xx.have any feature, system or device support necessary to achieve platform holder editorial feature requirements as deemed by GlaxoSmithKline at the time of the worldwide launch.

xxi.provide a list of all external SDK's implemented along with their placement and usage information upon submission

xxii.DEVELOPER will be credited in the game, but the game, once submitted, will belong to GlaxoSmithKline

xxiii. You are allowed to use standard IDEs like Android Studio(for Android) and Xcode(for iOS) apart from Unity for developing the games.

xxiv. This contest will not be applicable for residents from Tamilnadu as per law.
