A Gartner report says that there will be 25 Billion connected things by 2020, while Cisco believes that number will be 50 Billion, Morgan Stanley goes on to claim that it will be even higher, and up to 75 Billion. While the exact numbers might differ, one thing is for sure, we are in the era of connected things. Devices, objects and people connected to each other primarily through the internet.

The fact that devices can be connected to each other, share data and take intelligent decisions by talking to other devices opens up opportunities that were previously unthinkable. It can disrupt the way we interact with our surroundings. Build applications on IoT that help us improve our experience in our day to day life.

This is a 65 hours hackathon where you will have to build a fully functional IoT application. The hackathon is an online/offline hackathon. For all those who have access to hardware, they can participate remotely, for others HackerEarth will provide venues in 3 different locations. You can visit any of the venue during the hackathon and get access to hardware there.

We will be providing venues in the following cities :

The offline hackthon will be conducted for a period of 32 hours , from 10.00 AM, 16th of January to 6.00 PM, 17th of January.

Please fill out the forms to claim your participation at the venue. Seats will be given on a first-cum-first-serve basis.

Check the Rules section for information regarding the hardware devices that will be provided at the venue.

Note: We will also host a one hours long Mentor Hours session with Deepak Bysani, Engineering Manager at Akamai, and Soumitra Bhattacharyya, Director Engineering at Akamai, to guide you in the case of any queries that you might have about the hackathon.
